Role: Level Designer

Company: Stitch Media

My time working on Terrorarium was spent on the game's first major update. For the update, I was tasked with creating 15 new levels for the game

Responsibilities

Create New Levels

I was tasked with creating 15 new levels for the game

Design Level Order

I had to design a new order in which the game's levels would be played

Designing New Level Order

When creating the new order for the levels, I looked at all of the current levels and divided them based on their biome & level difficulty

The levels were further organized into the type of level they were, with that being "Moogu Escort, Shroomevators, Goo, and finally heavy foliage.

Each biome then received 3 of each type of level, with each one scaling in difficulty

(1 biome = 3 Moogu Escort, 3 Shroomevators, 3 Goo, 3 heavy foliage)

Level Creation

Planning

Before creating the level I would go into photoshop and make a top-down view of the biome and sketch out how I wanted each level to be

Blockout

I would then start outlining the level, testing to ensure that everything is to scale and feels appropriate.

Finishing Touches

Once the level has then been tested and approved I would go forward and begin to decorate the level with different foliage and rocks
